Job Description
This role will be responsible for origin operations with direction and guidance to freight forwarders for cargo flow. The candidate must ensure reliability in the supply chain and drive continuous improvement in cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilites
Manage ocean freight and coordinate with shipping lines and NVOCC.
Analyze and optimize the international transportation network, focusing on optimum CBM utilization and understanding business systems and interfaces.
Reduce cost-per-CBM and explore service opportunities by leveraging the WSI Carrier network and consolidation facilities.
Possess strong working knowledge of the import process for cargo, data, and documentation flows between Asia, Europe, Subcon, and the US origin.
Develop business-management reports using BI tools.
Collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure operational success.
Serve as the key interface between WSO and external customers, providing day-to-day logistics support.
Requirement
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in Ocean freight management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive change based on findings.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and lead change management efforts.
General knowledge of supply chain principles, project management, and Six Sigma is beneficial.
Ability to assess current processes and implement improvements.
Proficient in MS Office, with strong skills in database applications such as SQL Server, Excel, Power Query, and Access.
Knowledge of MS Projects, GTNexus, QlikView, EDI, Lean, Six Sigma, and Visio is preferred.
